Jackdaw

Jackdaw - K.J. Charles
BR, January 3rd with Marco and Julie.

I love historicals, especially the settings. This time the lovely Cornwall was the setting.

Although this book can be read as a stand-alone, I feel you would've missed what was truly going on.
I would really recommend reading Flight of Magpies first.

Jonah, a thief, a windwalker and a traitor. He's the one ripping Crane's picture at the end of the Magpies book.
Stephen is pissed and wants to do everything in his power to bring Jonah to justice.

Not only Stephen but also Ben, Jonah's friend/lover is searching for revenge. Ben is hurt because of Jonah's betrayal.
It was hard reading about these men. Because of all of the heartbreak. But they still loved each other and Jonah was able to change.

"I want to walk the wind with you and come home to our bed. I want you to read to me and play rugby. I want to make you proud of me. I don’t need anything else.

I don’t see why that’s so much to ask, that I could just be with you. If you loved me.

And I want you to love me again. I want that, Ben."

Ben was ultimately able to forgive Jonah and all things came together. We see Crane, Day and Merrick again.
And the awesome windwalking-scene with Saint.

I wanna windwalk too!!

“And then I met you.

And I stopped running.

And I fell.”
