Review: Married for a Month by Cate Ashwood
Cate Ashwood is kinda of a miss of or a win for me. But this totally worked for me.
It's because I'm a sucker for the fake husband trope , I think but who cares. Combine this trope with a friends-to-lovers story and I'm a goner.
Chase and Alec have been friends forever. Both of them reluctant for any seriously relationship. Having casual relationships work fine for the both of them. But that doesn't mean either of them couldn't hold a relationship.
"Single by choise."
"Marriage is easy. You give up on life and sit around in sweatpants, ordering takeout and watching reality TV.”
One night at the bar they are challenged to show their friends how good they are in keeping a marriage work.
They get fake married. Living and sleeping in the same place. How hard could it be?
Until it doesn't feel like being just friends at all.
“And when this ends, I don’t know how we’re going to go back. Knowing everything I know now, I don’t know if I can go back. I don’t want to go back.”
I really enjoyed this story. Nothing spectacular. Just a sweet, funny story about two friends falling in love.
